When I was learning to print color photos I brought to class these negatives I had taken at a party just days before. I remember my teacher going through the contact sheets and, after seeing them rather quickly, said "That's why I don't bring my camera to parties anymore". She contiued with a little hand gesture that pointed to my pictures "you end up with a bunch of bad pictures". Although she was particularly right that one time, I don't neceseraly agree with her.

Then I come across images like this one. I actually had to step into a building an ask permission to photograph these chairs. I wasn't shy about it even though it involved asking for permission. There was something that I was really attracted to. Probably the way they were nicely piled or probably that I used to have a chair this precise style. However, I still felt like they were thinking I was weird... and I have this feeling quite often.

The town I am from has a ton of popular sayings, on of them goes something like this: "Don't do good things that seem bad". This is the feeling I normally have when I am photographing. I know I'm doing nothing wrong but still feel people will think I am. I like to photograph when the subject is not posing, when it isn't aware of the camera. Every now and then I ask people if they mind, sometimes they do and sometimes they don't but "that" moment I first saw is, most of the times, gone.
